Medical Solution for Severe Sun Damage

Bella Sante MD Cosmetic and Laser Clinic is the only clinic in Saskatchewan offering PDT for the Treatment of Actinic Keratosis (AKs) and the Non-Melanoma Skin Cancers (NMSCs).

If your Doctor has diagnosed you with Actinic Keratosis (AKs) or Non Melanoma Skin Cancer (NMSC) such as Superficial Basal Cell Cancer (SBCC) you need to have these treated. Left untreated these lesions can develop into Squamous Cell Cancer (SCC).

Treatment options include:

  • Liquid Nitrogen

  • 5 Fluorouracil (5 FU)

  • Zyclara (3.75% Imiquimod) Cream Topical Treatment

  • Picato Gel Topical Treatment

  • Metvix and Red Light

The “Gold Standard” in dermatology to treat these lesions most effectively with the least amount of recurrence is METVIX.

What to Expect

We prepare your skin by gently removing scales or crusts. The METVIX cream is then applied. We allow the cream to penetrate for approximately 3 hours.

The treated areas are exposed to a specialized Red Light (AK Light) for 7-10 minutes.  Some patients experience a stinging or burning sensation.

After the procedure you will experience redness, swelling and crusting that will last approximately one week.

Request a Consult or call 306-652-0553 and one of our friendly client care coordinator will assist you in your journey to healthy skin.

The real sin against life is to abuse and destroy beauty, even one's own - even more, one's own, for that has been put in our care and we are responsible for its well-being.
