Vessels

Visible blood vessels on the face and legs are a common concern that tends to worsen gradually over time. They develop when vessel walls weaken or dilate, and while they pose no health risk in most cases, they can be a significant source of self-consciousness.

At Bella Sante MD, we offer targeted treatments for both facial and leg vessels, with the approach tailored to the size, location and nature of what is being treated.

FAQs on Vessels

bella sante

Spider veins are small, superficial vessels that appear close to the skin surface, most commonly on the face and legs. Varicose veins are larger, deeper and often raised or twisted, typically appearing on the legs. Both can be effectively treated but require different approaches.

It depends on the number, size and location of the vessels being treated. Some patients see significant improvement after a single session, while others benefit from a short course of treatments.

Downtime is minimal for both VBeam and Intense Pulsed Light (BBL)™. Sclerotherapy may involve mild bruising or temporary discolouration in the treated area that resolves over a few weeks.

Treated vessels are permanently destroyed, but new ones can develop over time due to genetics, sun exposure, hormonal changes and other factors. Periodic maintenance treatments and daily sunscreen help slow the progression of new vessel formation.
